The Spyral Gigli saw, manufactured by Bestway Products Company, is the only wire saw with an actual cutting tooth. It is a significant improvement over the 130-year-old design of all other Gigli saws. Rather than multiple twisted wires that abrade their way through bone, the Spyral saw is a single wire with a spiral tooth that actually cuts. It will even cut through metal.
The Spyral saw does not require the rapid hand movements of the twisted-wire designs, and has no small fine wires that can break during use. It has a more consistent diameter, cuts faster, and cuts more smoothly.
Spyral surgical “Gigli” wire saws are available in two diameters, 1 mm and .7 mm. Being smaller in diameter they leave a smaller kerf, and by having to remove less bone they require less effort. Sold to medical professionals, hospitals, and device distributors only.
